The maiden flight of the Long March 7 carried a recoverable capsule, not a winged shuttle ? and that image is an artist?s concept created for Popular Science years ago (dating back at least to 2014).

The capsule was a sub-scale prototype and can be seen here:

Not sure if my postings are making it onto the list or not.

I had assumed that the "shuttle" referred to the manoeuvrable YZ-1A upper
stage which went to different orbits to drop off payloads and then was used
to de-orbit the re-entry vehicle demonstrator.  The intention was that
YZ-1A would then return to orbit (would this be a "first" in spaceflight
history?) for another day or so of orbital manoeuvres but it's unclear
whether this actually happened.

These interpretations are reasonable but note that this is all slightly complicated by the fact that Chinese translators may be using the term "space shuttle" to refer to a piloted spacecraft. Early press reports about Shenzhou come to mind.

Now,that's quiet an achievement. Let's hope the electronics can cope
with the intense radiation.
