[FPSPACE] colorado fireball and russian spysat -- i'm still confused

I think I'm losing track of this story. 
  
AP yesterday had a news story whose headline was contradicted by every expert quoted in it. 
  
Now NBC has run an evening news report based on the dubious AP story. 
  
Where do the real experts stand on the likely timing between the nominal photorecce recovery and the Colorado fireball? If the landing/recovery was nominal, why should any other related object reenter so closely in time?
