I understand they were different design bureaus, but was there any knowledge
transfer about closed cycle engines between the NK-33 and RD-170/180 teams,
as is implied in this (now quite old) Equinox documentary:

The Soyuz 2-1v (1 flight so far) uses 1 NK-33 as its first stage engine.
