Soyuz launch may be delayed by one month - source

MOSCOW. March 15 (Interfax-AVN) - The launch of the manned spacecraft Soyuz TMA-21, which was to leave for the ISS on March 30 (the launch was postponed for technical reasons) may be delayed by a month or even more, a source in the space industry told Interfax-AVN.

"The decision on the new date of the launch will be made in the next few days. Specialists have to decide what amount of work and inspections has to be performed due to the failed condenser. The decision on the time of the launch will depend on that," the source said.

If a decision is made to replace only the condenser in one of the units of the command communications system, the launch may take place between April 7 and April 10, the source said.

"However, it is highly probably that all condensers in the batch will have to be replaced. In that case, the amount of work and tests will increase considerably and the launch is unlikely to take place before April 20," the source said.
