The river Elbe, mentioned in both sources, is not Russian, but German
river (its well is in the Czech Republic). The American and Russian troops
meet together in April 1945 near the town Torgau during the last days of
WW-II. The statement "on the river Elbe" is only symbolic reminiscence.

The first contact between Apollo and Soyuz occured over Atlantic ocean,
500 miles off Portugal coast at 51:52:30 GET (Ground Elapsed Time counted
from the launch of Apollo), well in advance from planned time (51:55 GET).
