"Bonestell Probes." If NASA wants to awe the public into supporting the new
initiative it should might launch a set of Clementine-style spacecraft that
would provide the kind of sexy imagery that Chesley Bonestell produced in
the 1950s - which must have helped sell the space program in the first
place. Maybe the Apollo landing sites were too conservative to provide the
type of dramatic scenery that Bonestell envisioned.
