MOSCOW, Oct 16 (AFP) - The first manned mission to the
International Space Station (ISS), scheduled to begin October 30,
could be delayed up to three days, the project's Russian partner
Energiya told AFP Monday.
A three-man US-Russian is crew due to blast off aboard a Soyuz
rocket from the Baikonur cosmodrome in Kazakhstan, but the late
departure of the shuttle Discovery sent to equip the ISS last week,
threatens to hold up the mission.
"A final decision on the matter has yet to be taken, but this
delay is likely," an Energiya spokesman said, citing the shuutle's
delayed mission to the ISS as the cause.
